It’s a tale as old as time: The maniacs have blown it all up, and the few unlucky survivors are forced to pick up the pieces and begin civilization anew. Double Fine’s Rad, however, takes it one step further. A second apocalypse has happened, and according to the omnipresent narrator, the survivors’ one-word reaction is actually the correct and logical one: “Seriously?”
From the second pile of ashes, however, a new hero arises. You, the Remade, a blunt weapon-wielding child of the endtimes who has been tasked by the Menders–the new architects of the age–with going forth into the treacherous radioactive hellscape armed with nothing more than a baseball bat and a host of ungodly but powerful bodily mutations to find a new source of power for humankind.
On paper, that sounds dreadfully serious. In practice, however, it’s Double Fine, a developer that seems physically incapable of making a game that’s a downer. The Menders give the Remade their powe…
Video games don’t usually flex their ability to make you feel unsettled or unwelcome. Sure, games can craft a pretty convincing zombie-infested mansion, and they’ve got monsters in closets for days, but they rarely aspire to the sort of disorientation found in, say, the pages of Alice in Wonderland. Even the most frightening horror games tend to be marked by the allowances they provide for you. Think Dead Space’s handy route finder, or the accommodating logic of puzzle elements in Resident Evil. Scary, yes, but the games are also ergonomic: their spaces feel constructed specifically to be occupied by you.
NaissanceE is not a horror game. Yet the hairs on the back of my neck were at attention for most of the 10 hours I spent in its world. The first-person exploration game by Limasse Five begins with a narrow escape from an implied threat, and though the bulk of the remaining experience involves light platforming and a touch of puzzle-solving, the specter of that early en…
CES 2024 has been all about AI, from the companies introducing new implementations of the technology to other less favorable headlines. Altec Lansing, for example, revealed the return of GameShark–a brand of cheat cartridges and discs from the 1990s–as AI Shark, but in doing so might have spilled the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Per DigitalTrends, the press release for AI Shark not only describes what the returning brand will do in its new AI form, but also mentions that the new tech’s official launch is scheduled to “coincide with the Nintendo Switch 2 in September 2024.”
Nintendo has not revealed any information about its new console as of this writing, so there is a chance this is merely speculation on Altec Lansing’s part. Nintendo has not commented on the statement in the press release, but Altec Lansing has made a statement to DigitalTrends which clarified the September release month to a more general Fall 2024 release win…
Reinhardt in Overwatch 2 is the same sturdy tank as ever, causing headaches for the enemy team with his strong shield and rocket hammer. This time around, with just one tank on your team, Reinhardt’s task is a bit different, though. Protecting remains his forte, but you want to pair it with a strong offensive plan to help push past the enemy and seize victory. Here’s how to best play as Reinhardt in Overwatch 2.
You can see how all heroes, including this one, stack up in our Overwatch 2 tank tier list, DPS tier list, and support tier list. Where did your favorite land?
Reinhardt Overview
Reinhardt is a mighty force on the battlefield and one of the ultimate defenders. His powerful barrier can withstand heavy assaults and keep your team safe while they push forward to claim the objective, and anyone who gets too close gets treated to the taste of Reinhardt’s hefty rocket hammer. The tank does struggle with long-range combat and can be easil…
The Adams administration unveiled a comprehensive zoning proposal that could pave the way for casino developments across broad sections of New York City.
Proposed Zoning Overhaul Opens Doors for Casinos Across New York City
Unlike the city’s current zoning regulations, the proposed changes would permit the establishment of casinos in any manufacturing district and nearly all commercial areas, with minimal restrictions on their size. The scope of the proposal extends beyond just gambling halls, as developers could incorporate additional amenities within the casino footprint, such as restaurants, hotels, bars, and performing arts venues.
City officials argue that these sweeping changes are essential to streamline the regulatory process for the winners of the highly sought-after casino license…

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s roster of dungeons will include an updated version of a classic dungeon from back in its pre-expansion days.
Dragonflight alpha testing has entered its second phase, giving players the chance to level through the Dracthyr starting zone and check out some of the new dungeons coming as part of the game’s latest expansion. One of those “new” dungeons is Uldaman, or at least a new portion of it.
British land-based and online sportsbook operator Entain has announced the launch of a program that is to see it digitize its retail businesses in the United Kingdom and Italy so as to enhance the omni-channel experience for its customers.
The London-listed firm used an official Wednesday press release to pronounce that the move will involve its Ladbrokes and Coral-branded locations in the United Kingdom ‘being converted into digital hubs’ featuring the newest gaming machines as well as interactive displays. The company, which is currently considering a $20 billion takeover proposal from DraftKings Incorporated, stated that this evolution is to allow punters to have ‘more choice of interactive sports and gaming content’ while simultaneously enjoying ‘a more engaging and dynamic experience.’
Transformational track:
Formerly known as GVC Holdings until undergoing a late-2020 name change, Entain proclaimed that this new course…
This is according to analysts from JPMorgan who seem to be inclined to believe that the newly-established regulatory body, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority or GCGRA is expected to move quicker than anticipated and possibly present the laws that would make it possible to introduce gambling.
Already the Groundwork for Something Bigger
The regulator earlier this year added a number of well-seasoned industry veterans whose expertise should in theory make it much simpler for the authority to set up everything it needs. Jim Murren was appointed chairman and Kevin Mullay stepped in as the CEO of the new watchdog.
So, why would the GCGRA move so quickly? JPMorgan seems inclined to believe that the regulator is keen to get all details hammered out and make sure that the upcoming $3.9-billion resort spearheaded by Wynn will be arr…
'RHONJ' Jennifer Aydin Addresses Ozempic Accusations With Weight Loss Confession
Jennifer Aydin is clapping back at critics of her new slimmed-down figure.
In fact, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star recently addressed accusations that she uses Ozempic head-on.
"I am not on Ozempic!" the Bravo star firmly told host Andy Cohen of the Type 2 diabetes medication used for weight loss on the July 14 episode of Watch What Happens Live.. "So for anybody who is yelling at me saying my head is too big for my body, it's just my hair. And that I have to stop taking Ozempic because their family members can't get it, I am not on Ozempic."
As it turns out, Aydin prefers the injectable drug under a different brand name.
"I'm on Mounjaro, okay," the 47-year-old hilariously added. "Mounjaro 2.5. I'm sorry! I love being this weight, I love it! I have …
Motherboard BIOS updates are rarely newsworthy but the latest ones from Asus and ASRock, for some of their AM5 X670 models, contain an Agesa update that provides more evidence AMD is definitely going to release a Ryzen 7000G desktop APU, using its laptop Phoenix architecture.
Just don’t ask when.
As reported by Hardwareluxx, the fresh BIOS files contain the 1.1.0.0 version of AMD’s Agesa software. This is essentially a checklist for PCs to follow when they first boot up, to ensure that the CPU, RAM, and motherboard chipset all correctly initialise. Any new processors have to be included in the lists, otherwise, the BIOS won’t function properly.
In this latest revision, there are clear entries for Phoenix 7xxx APUs. At present, desktop PCs sporting Ryzen 7000-series CPUs are host to Raphael processors, which use one or two 5nm chiplets for the Zen 4 cores and a single 6nm IO chip, that also houses two RDNA 2 compute units for very basic graphics outpu…
Now that Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail’s full trailer has finally released, the game’s first on-screen hrothgar lady has stepped into the spotlight. It turns out that her English voice actor has also been playing the game for years, as revealed in a tweet yesterday.
“Keeping quiet about this has been the hardest thing of my life,” Sena Bryer writes in a follow-up tweet. “I’ve been playing FFXIV since 1.0 launch, and before that FFXI since its NA PC launch. This game means more to me than any other in all my life of gaming. To be such a part of it is such a tremendous honour.”
FF14’s initial release (the 1.0 Bryer mentions) is almost unrecognisable to most players nowadays. It was flooded with glitches, weighed down by an archaic user interface and combat system, and hilariously poorly optimised—infamously, one single barrel had more polygons than a player model for some ungodly reason.
The game’s current director Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) was brought in to give t…

Okay, idle fans, I’ve got a new clicker for you: Click Click Dig dropped a new demo this week, and it’s looking pretty much like your kind of thing. In it, your little guy (“Diggy”) and his friends are tunneling toward the center of various planets in search of special and rare materials. Special and rare materials you’ll obviously use to dig deeper, faster, on even more planets.
First off, it’s very cute. The little guys’ little animations are adorable, from the flopping fish to the squashy slime—exactly the kind of characterful thing you want from an idle or incremental game.
It’s the basic setup you expect by now: Start simple, just you and a click or two, then hire assistants to autoclick, then start unlocking upgrades… then skins that are upgrades… then upgrade shops… a research system… crafting. Yeah, it’s all here, and I like it so far.
The free prologue is its own unique planet to dig to the center of, which takes a day or three depending on h…
Ask a Final Fantasy 14 diehard what mods they use and many of them will say GShade, a fork of Reshade that lets you customize the game’s visuals. GShade has long been the tool to make the MMO (and several other games) look pretty for screenshots, allowing you to add shaders for a more vibrant or avant-garde aesthetic.
GShade, at least for the moment, is gone. Its creator, Marot Satil, announced in the GPOSERS Discord that it “will not receive updates for the time being.” But at the time of this writing, GShade’s GitHub page, including Satil’s account, have been removed.
Over the last few days, Satil has been battling another modder, NotNite, who made an alternative version of the software called GeezShade. GeezShade is essentially a fork of ReShade that uses a workaround to download and install most of the custom shaders from GShade.
“[GShade’s] installer is a total mess that also is not open source,” NotNite wrote on their blog. “Of course, monkey see and monkey g…
Turns out, the critically-acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy 14 is popular. Popular enough that its surprise foray into the tabletop RPG (TTRPG) market has sold like hotcakes.
As spotted by Dicebreaker, the FF14 TTPRG has already proven so popular, in fact, that it’s sold out without a single book shipped—though the first wave of pre-orders will be arriving later this month.
This has been confirmed by the official Square Enix merchandise account on Twitter, which writes: “Wave 1 of the FFXIV TTRPG has sold out and will be released later this month. If you Pre-Ordered Wave 1 of the TTRPG, it will start shipping later in May.”
Fortunately, a reprint of the system is en-route, with pre-orders for “Wave 2” available on the Square Enix Store at the time of writing. There are some genuinely funny parallels to draw here—considering Final Fantasy 14’s most recent expansion, Endwalker, was so hungered-after that Square Enix had to just stop selling it for a wh…
Watch On
Everywhere, simply put, wants you to come and make stuff. While games like Fortnite and Roblox have had their own user-generated content (UGC) tools added after-the-fact (and have seen massive success off the back of them) Everywhere is a game that looks to build itself from the ground-up with those tools in mind—making it the lifeblood of its interlocking systems.
Last year, I got to visit Build a Rocket Boy to take a look at it myself, and while I think it’s facing an uphill battle in a market with similar offerings, I’ve still got hope that Everywhere is going to find its niche.
From what I’ve been shown, said UGC tools are suitably powerful for that task, letting players kitbash custom assets, code, and sound effects together to create some really complex stuff—while allowing them to save “Stamps”, clumps of asset and code they’ll be able to publish and share with others. These stamps can then be cobbled together by less technically-minded player…
